The
Church
The church is often referred to as a place of worship or a place where people gather to worship. People are often asked what church do you go to i.e. Baptist, Methodist, and Church of England to identify beliefs. But if we take a look at the scriptures we find out that the church is much more that a building.
In the old Testament Noah was instructed to build an ark, as place of refuge that would save all those inside from the wrath of God. This was constructed by precise construction planes of God even that type of wood was chosen by God. God fashioned the body of Christ according to his, that he would be the saviour of the world.
The church is the mystical body of Christ that can only be joined through one way and that is repentance and baptism. As the church is the bride of Christ and is governed by the head, and is subject to him as a wife is subject to her husband. He is bound to him forever doing all for his wife.
In order for the church to be pleasing to the head(Christ) it must embark on doing the things that are pleasing to him through the act of holiness. This is what make and keep the bride as a chase virgin awaiting the marriage of her husband. Jesus Christ only has one church, one bride, therefore it would be totally wrong to say we all "denominations" are going to the same place. There are so many varieties of church, but we are told clearly that there is but one faith, one baptism, one father of all. In summary the church is not a building but according to the scriptures it is the spiritual body of Christ.
