General Assembly By-Laws are a set of rules and regulations that are set forth in accordance with the word of God. The purpose of the By-laws is to ensure that the children of God remain steadfast within the boundaries of the Holy Scriptures. The purpose is to elevate the people leaning on their own understanding and go about to establish their own righteousness. As it is written to let all things be done decently and in order, so it is with the by-laws. As these rules are made in accordance with the Scriptures, they are not allowed to contradict the doctrine of God in any form, but to uphold all that is holy.

  1. I will use no tobacco, or drugs of any sort for smoking, chewing, injecting or any of its habitual forms. [II Corinthians 7:1, I Corinthians 3:16- 17, II Corinthians 6:16-18, I Corinthians. 6;19-20, Isaiah 55:2]
  2. I will never be intoxicated with wine or by any type of strong drink. [I Corinthians.6:l0, Ephesians. 5: I5, Prov.20:l]
  3. I, as a woman, will wear no sleeveless dress outside my house, low cut blouses, trousers, split tail skirts/dresses of any kind. Clothing that is tight and hugging the body, or wear fashions that are see through revealing the naked flesh, this appearance is immodest. [1 Timothy 2:9-10. Revelation 3:18]
  4. I, as a man will wear no short trousers or shorts pants, shirts or tee shirts without sleeves out side of my home. Clothing that is tight and hugging the body, or wear fashions that are see through revealing the naked flesh. [Genesis 3:21 Revelation 3:18, I Thessalonians 4:7, II Thessalonians 3:7, 9]
  5. I will always abstain from those things that would appear evil to my brethren in the Church and to the unsaved. [I Corinthians 10:28-32, 1 Thessalonians 5:22]
  6. I will never forsake the assembling together of ourselves but will but will he present at every service except at times when I find it quite impossible to attend. [Hebrews 10:25, Matthew 18:20]
  7. I will take no evil report against an Elder or any member of my assembly, but will always seek to prove the things I hear before I accept same. [Titus 3:2, I Timothy 5:19]
  8. I will never allow myself to be found thinking or judging corrupt thoughts of God's people but will always think the best of things I cannot understand until I am able to prove otherwise. [Titus 1:15, Philippians 4:8-9]
  9. I will not take my brother or sister in the Lord before the Law Courts, but will always take them to the Church in matters where I find it impossible to settle myself. [I Corinthians 6:1-6]
  10. I will have no fellowship with the unfruitful workers of darkness but I will always reprove the wrong I happen to discover in any member of my assembly, if no amendment I will take two or three others to help adjust the matter, then, if this fails to bring the desired results, I will take the matter to the Church immediately. [Ephesians 5:1 1, Matthew 18:15-17]
  11. I will never be yoked together with an unbeliever by marrying him or her after I am saved. [II Corinthians 6:14-15]
  12. I will never pursue to remarry another whilst the spouse of my first marriage is alive. [St. Luke 16:18; Romans 7:1-3; I Corinthians 7:39; St. Mark 10:11-12]
  13. I as a woman will never exercise leadership to preach, teach or usurp authority over the man in- the Spirit-filled Church. [1 Timothy 2:1 12-14]
  14. Upon the first day of the week, I will pay Tithes and Offerings of money and other things as God has prospered me during the week. [1 Corinthians 16:2, II Corinthians 9:6-8]
  15. I will always report to the Church whenever I am sick, and report the sickness of other members whenever I know of them. [James 1:22, James 5:14-15]
  16. I will always share with the other saints as part of the financial or other obligations of my assembly whenever I am called upon to do so. [11 Corinthians 8:13-14, II Corinthians 9:7]
  17. I will always give due respect to those who are above me in the work of the Lord, whatever may be their office in the Church. [Hebrews 13:17]
  18. I will never rebuke an Elder but will admonish him as a Father. [I Timothy 5:1]
